AirBase Systems is an environmental technology company designing networked environmental sensors for air quality monitoring, and building a database of highly accurate air quality information. We provide the information needed to create awareness on the importance of clean air, and we enable to collate and communicate this information.

Our Focus
We have just started a project with 250 outdoor sensors in a city in MENA. We focus on outdoor for now, but will bring our experiences to indoors, too. In fact, we have already sold indoor-sensors as single-sensors outside a network, to enable decentral air quality control.
Our Experience And Interest In The Four PCIA Central Focus Areas
We expect social/cultural barriers in emerging countries and BoP-markets. This will need further on-ground research that we will undertake once we have a project partner.
Since our product is not a cooking product but rather a validation/security/analysis of a cooking technology deployed, we cannot comment.
see above. Adding to this, standardization is a potential barrier to entry for us as it is for many technology companies. We are still discussing various requirements by national agencies that differ. However, since we deploy various types of sensors, we are able to cater for standards required in the country the sensors are deployed.
This is our business. Anybody interested to learn more, please get in touch.

Our Contribution to the Partnership
Our product is a.) a low-cost air quality sensor device and b.) a cloud-based service. With a.) we complement activities in the implementation of cookers and stoves regards issues of usage, safety and health, with b.) we provide the tools for monitoring large quantities of rooms in which stoves/ovens are deployed. We are open to proposals from manufacturers as well as universities, research organisations (especially BoP-labs) and of course NGOs.
